Irene MacCollar grew up in the foothills of the Taconic Mountains of Upstate New York and moved to Maine in 1994. She has spent much of her adult life on the coast of Maine, including several years on Peaks Island in Casco Bay, and now resides in the harbor town of Belfast where she keeps a studio overlooking the water.   She is also a published author, designer, entrepreneur, and blogger of poetry.
